Houheng No. 5 was built by the world's top ship builder, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation. It is currently the most advanced ore carrier in the world. Houheng No. 5 has superior technical indicators such as heavy load, shallow draft, and low fuel consumption, which is in line with the current development trend of large international dry bulk carriers.

During the construction process, Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited and Zhoushan Changhong Shipyard made concerted efforts to contribute world-class construction technology for Houheng No. 5; the supervision team-Zhongying Hong Kong provided world-class supervision services for Houheng No. 5.The largest classification society, the Norwegian Classification Society, and Tom, a well-known ship management company, provide world-class services for Houheng 5.
